Sweet Home Alabama!

Pumpkin Carving Fun!!!

Mitchell, Liz, the pumpkin, and their grey kitty Nurmal (named after the Garfield cartoon)
Yummy pumpkin seeds for cooking!!

Mitchell's Scary Pumpkin that is barfing up pumpkin guts and seeds....boys are so gross!!

I have been visiting my best old college friend Lizabeth and her seven year old son Mitchell in Alabama for the past week. I needed a break, a place to get away for a little bit. I have decided to stay another week and spend Halloween with them as well. We carved a pumpkin and cooked seasoned pumpkin seeds. This weekend, they are having a small neighborhood parent/children's Halloween party. Today, I helped make homemade invitations with construction paper, crayons and stickers.

I have decided to dress up as a Twilight-like vampire. I was thinking it would be an easy do for my small budget. Mitchell is going as James Bond (he just recently watched one of the old classics) and Liz is going as Elvira. We have been thrift store shopping for items and have found a black tux pant suit and bow tie for Mitchell and still need a few more items for Liz. She also dyed her hair black! I really like it, Liz is not sure if she really likes it or not. I am wearing all black as usual and making my face white/pale, dramatic makeup with blood dripping down from my mouth and vampire teeth. I think it should be lots of fun dressing up. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays out of the year besides Christmas.

I have been on thrift store shopping bliss this past week!! found lots of clothes for when I lose more weight! I hit the jackpot here and cannot wait until everything fits! I was getting a little bit worried there for a minute that I would not be able to find any cheap clothes to fit me when I lose more weight, but that is definitely not the case anymore! I didn't spend much either, which is exactly what I wanted....cute clothes for real cheap! The Foundry is my all-time favorite place which is in in Bessemer, AL. My other favorite place is America's Thrift store in Midfield, AL. It's my little secret so consider yourself lucky for me telling you now!

I had the time of my life yesterday at the Alabama vs. Tennessee game at Bryant Denny Stadium. I attended the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa for two years before I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I met some of my greatest friends ever there - Jeremy, Lizabeth, Erica and Shara.

I had lunch with Shara at the Summit at a nice little Greek restaurant and had the best lemon chicken soup ever!! It was so delicious and full of protein. I also got to met up with my other good friend Erica, who also had gastric bypass surgery around the same time Hannah had hers. She has lost a significant amount of weight post surgery. We got to catch up and chat about life and gbp stuff. I forgot to take pictures with Shara, but I did get a few snapshots with Erica.

Stacey Carroll, Liz's childhood best friend invited us over to her house one night for dinner with her family. She has two adorable kids, Faith and Maddox. Stacey always cooks the best food ever!!! She made us meat loaf, potato casserole and green beans. It was a little on the fattening side, but I ate really good!!! Thanks Stacey for everything....you're the best!!

Mitchell goofing off...as usual just like his comedian mom!Mom is just as funny....

One my all time favorite restaurants while attending college was Pepitos Mexican restaurant. I think this was where I gained the bulk of my weight too!! Of course I couldn't eat like that now, it was just a plain salad with cheese, beans, sour cream, gauc, lettuce and pico. It was pretty delicious...but I missed my old eating habits a bit. (Mind over matter!) I also had a few pics of Liz and me on campus before we ate at our favorite joint...Pepitos!

I am eager to see how much weight I have lost too! I haven't weighed myself since I left last week. It will be like the icing on the cake to see my weight loss results after two whole weeks. Happy Halloween and be on the lookout for more postings soon!!

Those days are sadly over! I cannot wait to fit into some cute clothes at Forever 21, which is the second picture above. I know its black...but such a cute dress/ maybe a top?! Who knows....lol!!

Lost 4 more pounds!! 53 in all!!

I have become a little obsessed with weighing myself and have decided to stop doing it everyday. I wait about every 3-4 days to weigh myself in the morning, it gives me something exciting to look forward to! I have lost another 4 pounds...which makes the grand total 53 pounds.

I went to Whole Foods last night and stocked up on some TOFU! Tofu is extremely high in protein, so I bought me some "Tofurkey" products. Some peppered tofurky, tomato basil pesto sausage and Philly cheese steak Tofurkey. I hope it's all yummy. I tried the peppered Tofurkey and it was pretty good. I also got a high protein Ardens Garden Smoothie which was super doper yummo.

I am really struggling with what to wear!! If anybody has any larger sized clothing that I could borrow (size 22-20/18 or 2-3X) that would be greatly appreciated!! I have been to a couple of thrift stores, but have not found anything. It's hard finding plus sized clothing in thrift places. I just need to borrow a few pieces and then return them. I am in and out of sizes very quickly. Within the past two months I have already dropped 3 sizes! I am going to try a couple of other thrift stores this week in GA and then I leave for my little vaca to Alabama on Monday for the holy grail thrift stores!!! I cannot even explain how amazing the thrift stores are in Alabama! It is quite the mecca for vintage clothing...which does not seem likely at all! I am just so ready to get out of town and do something new and different. I have a traveling soul and feels like going crazy if I cannot hop in my car and drive somewhere new. I have been a little down lately being that I haven't found a job yet, but I am staying optimistic that God will send the perfect opportunity to my way. I love the Fall time and the fact that the holidays are just around the corner! Halloween, Thanksgiving, my Birthday and Christmas/New Years is my favorite time of year! Yayayaya!!

I am feeling pretty good, still getting over a cold...upper respiratory infection. I have one more day of antibiotics. The doc gave me liquid antibiotics, which made things a lot easier. I am still tired though and having a hard time with being sleepy. I went to Trader Joes and bought me some B-12 tablets that melt under your tongue. I hope this will give me some more energy! I also have been drinking high protein shakes to give me that extra boost. I am still having a hard time getting much food down, but no recent vomit episodes. I keeping positive and trying to be creative with finding ways to get nutrious food down.

I have been keeping myself very busy, especially with Ceejay's 27th Birthday. We ate at Houston's on her real b-day and then celebrated her birthday with friends at Agave and Mark Ultralounge. Happy Birthday Ceej!Enjoy the pictures!!!

The incredible shrinking woman...49 pounds down!

I am sick! I have been for the past week....thanks to Hannah and Dennis. I have been helping them move out of their house for the past couple of days and caught their cold. I am going to see my primary care physician tomorrow morning. I have felt so icky, but have still motivated myself to keep up with the walking. I am so proud of myself! I have been eating lots of protein too, with the help of shakes and bars. I found this cool brand called "Pure Protein" and it gives me lots of energy, low on sugar grams and calories. If my scale is correct, I have lost another 7 pounds, which gives me a grand total of 49 pounds lost!! I call myself the incredible shrinking woman!! A name that really fits!

I am really looking forward to getting out of town too, I am leaving in two weeks to go see my good friend Liz in Alabama. It is going to be so hard for me, for that was one of the places I got the most fat at during my college years at University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa...ROLL TIDE!!! Some of my favorite fat girl restaurants reside in T-town. I have done some major pigging out there to say the least. It will be interesting to see how the experience will be with my new stomach. I am not going to focus much on food like I usually do when I visit. Food has become a distant friend, one that I am now more cautious around. I am really excited to spend Halloween with the Moodys and make this trip a healthy one and one that I will remember forever!
