Sweet Home Alabama!

Pumpkin Carving Fun!!!

Mitchell, Liz, the pumpkin, and their grey kitty Nurmal (named after the Garfield cartoon)
Yummy pumpkin seeds for cooking!!

Mitchell's Scary Pumpkin that is barfing up pumpkin guts and seeds....boys are so gross!!

I have been visiting my best old college friend Lizabeth and her seven year old son Mitchell in Alabama for the past week. I needed a break, a place to get away for a little bit. I have decided to stay another week and spend Halloween with them as well. We carved a pumpkin and cooked seasoned pumpkin seeds. This weekend, they are having a small neighborhood parent/children's Halloween party. Today, I helped make homemade invitations with construction paper, crayons and stickers.

I have decided to dress up as a Twilight-like vampire. I was thinking it would be an easy do for my small budget. Mitchell is going as James Bond (he just recently watched one of the old classics) and Liz is going as Elvira. We have been thrift store shopping for items and have found a black tux pant suit and bow tie for Mitchell and still need a few more items for Liz. She also dyed her hair black! I really like it, Liz is not sure if she really likes it or not. I am wearing all black as usual and making my face white/pale, dramatic makeup with blood dripping down from my mouth and vampire teeth. I think it should be lots of fun dressing up. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays out of the year besides Christmas.

I have been on thrift store shopping bliss this past week!! found lots of clothes for when I lose more weight! I hit the jackpot here and cannot wait until everything fits! I was getting a little bit worried there for a minute that I would not be able to find any cheap clothes to fit me when I lose more weight, but that is definitely not the case anymore! I didn't spend much either, which is exactly what I wanted....cute clothes for real cheap! The Foundry is my all-time favorite place which is in in Bessemer, AL. My other favorite place is America's Thrift store in Midfield, AL. It's my little secret so consider yourself lucky for me telling you now!

I had the time of my life yesterday at the Alabama vs. Tennessee game at Bryant Denny Stadium. I attended the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa for two years before I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I met some of my greatest friends ever there - Jeremy, Lizabeth, Erica and Shara.

I had lunch with Shara at the Summit at a nice little Greek restaurant and had the best lemon chicken soup ever!! It was so delicious and full of protein. I also got to met up with my other good friend Erica, who also had gastric bypass surgery around the same time Hannah had hers. She has lost a significant amount of weight post surgery. We got to catch up and chat about life and gbp stuff. I forgot to take pictures with Shara, but I did get a few snapshots with Erica.

Stacey Carroll, Liz's childhood best friend invited us over to her house one night for dinner with her family. She has two adorable kids, Faith and Maddox. Stacey always cooks the best food ever!!! She made us meat loaf, potato casserole and green beans. It was a little on the fattening side, but I ate really good!!! Thanks Stacey for everything....you're the best!!

Mitchell goofing off...as usual just like his comedian mom!Mom is just as funny....

One my all time favorite restaurants while attending college was Pepitos Mexican restaurant. I think this was where I gained the bulk of my weight too!! Of course I couldn't eat like that now, it was just a plain salad with cheese, beans, sour cream, gauc, lettuce and pico. It was pretty delicious...but I missed my old eating habits a bit. (Mind over matter!) I also had a few pics of Liz and me on campus before we ate at our favorite joint...Pepitos!

I am eager to see how much weight I have lost too! I haven't weighed myself since I left last week. It will be like the icing on the cake to see my weight loss results after two whole weeks. Happy Halloween and be on the lookout for more postings soon!!
