I weighed myself when I got back into town last week and it looks as though I have lost 92 pounds so far! That's 5 more pounds from the last weigh-in. I have almost lost 100 pounds!! I am so excited!! Only 8 more pounds till I meet my 100 pound goal.
I have my next appointment with Dr. Burrowes in February. I will discuss with him my hair loss issue. I found out that my discounted Cobra insurance will be extended for another 6 months! Normally, I would pay close to $400 a month for health, dental and vision on Cobra. In a bad economy, I get a discounted rate that will be around $130 per month. I was very excited to get this news from Fruit of the Loom (my former employer). That means I will be able to afford health care and continue to see Dr. Burrowes. It is extremely important to see your Gastric Bypass surgeon every couple of months for at least a year out from surgery. Even though I do not have a full-time job, I can at least have peace of mind about my health.
I am almost in a size 18...which I cannot even remember the last time I was in that size. I tried on a pair of cords from Old Navy and they were tight, but they fit! I bought a couple of items during the Old Navy clearance sale. One item in particular was a size 18 grey denim skirt...that fits like a charm! It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to go into a regular store...not a plus size store like Torrid, Lane Bryant or the Avenue and try on what everybody else is able to wear that is a normal size. The feeling is incredible and leaves me feeling so happy to have been able to have this life changing surgery. It has helped me regain so much self confidence that I have lost in the past 10 years.
I have an interview on the first of February and I can honestly say that I am extremely excited about it! In the past, I normally dreaded interviews in fear of rejection from my appearance on the outside. I always felt like the interviewer was always judging my size and not what was on the inside. I lacked confidence and always felt that I was at a huge disadvantage than my competition. I know that about 90% of that was all in my head and that wasn't the case at all. Some people think that being over-weight is a sign of laziness and that your production levels will be low and then you are labeled as a bad hire. This will be my first interview since I have lost a significant amount of weight...so this one is going to be the one I will remember forever! The one where I can shine and totally be myself!!
Wish me luck!!
