New Years in Alexandria, VA. / D.C with Amanda and Jeremy

In front of Amanda's house that she shares with two roommates in the Old Town area of Alexandria, VA. It's just outside the city/DC area. It's a really trendy, historic town that is full of fun stuff to do!

Downtown DC area...it was freezing cold weather! Almost unbearable. I was shocked that Jay and Amanda let me do a last minute photo shoot...they were so sweet!

At the Natural Museum...of the Smithsonian. The Hope Diamond was beautiful...I had the most fun looking at the gemstones!! Like the symbolism of the elephant in the background? I do!

In the park area, where there was an outdoor ice skating ring! I so wanted to skate....but it was way too cold! This was one of my favorite places in the DC area...loved all the art reliefs and statues.

Night on the town in DC...we went to this fun little restaurant that turns into a reggae /rock steady music night once a month where you can dance and have fun. We got to meet a couple of Amanda's good friends too.

Amanda, Me and Rebecca (One of Amanda's friends)

The New Years Eve House Party!! We had such a blast!! I loved meeting all of Amanda and her roommates friends.

Amanda, Me, Jay and Kelly (one of Amanda's roomies)

The morning after, New Years Day. We went to this really cool restaurant in the Delray (which is close to Old Town) area that was having a special New Years Day pajama brunch special with $1 Bloody Marys. It was super delicious and was so much fun to lounge around in our PJs.

On the Metro...I was a little nauseous that day. Don't ask! You can tell by looking at my pale face. Jay and I had fun in the city and Amanda had to work. We visited a couple of museums and did a lot of walking around the DC area. I got my exercise in for sure!

A fun night out in Old Town at this hole in the wall bar that was below a seafood/sushi restaurant. They held a trivia night, which was super fun. We got to choose our own team name, which was the Serial Killers. I know lame...but we couldn't decide on a good name! We were unfortunately really bad at trivia and spelling and were at the bottom of every round. It was pretty fun though and I had a dirty martini too! I know I was supposed to wait till month 6...but I jumped the bullet. It was ahhhmazing!!

Having a super hilarious time at Target...

I drove from South Boston, Virginia (4 hour drive) and Jeremy flew in from Atlanta so that we could spend New Years together with our good friend Amanda in Alexandria, VA. / DC. area. Amanda McDonald was my first friend (at the first quarter/class) that I met while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. God sent her to me because he knew that I needed a good southern girlfriend who kept it real. She was also one of my roommates during SCAD too! I introduced her to Jeremy and we all became really good friends throughout the years.

She is always coming into town to visit us in Atlanta, so it was extremely overdue for us to return the favor. I have always wanted to go out of town for New Years, so this gave us a good excuse to do it!

I loved visiting Alexandria, VA. and learning more about her life and friends there. It was such a good visit and was very sad to leave. I love you Mandy and miss you very, very much!! You are my soul sista! Thanks again for everything!!
